Circogonia

ARURA Collection / Marine Biology

The Circogonia pendant is inspired by a tile from Alim Pasht-Han’s ARURA vase created for the Leuchtenburg Porzellanwelten (Porcelain Worlds) museum in Seitenroda, Germany. Circogonia was originally described and drawn by Ernst Haeckel in his book ‘Kunstformen der Natur.’ Circogonia is a perfectly icosahedral Radiolarian. The hole in the center of the shell is its ‘mouth’ allowing the creature’s amoeboid fingers to slither out and snare dinner.

The Circogonia pendant is available for purchase at the Leuchtenburg Museum, my Shapeways shop and my Etsy shop (click jewelry images below for links).
