A marine single-celled organism that lives inside a spiral-shaped, calciferous shell, the shells of Cristellaria, as well as other Foraminiferans and Coccolithophores, make up the White Cliffs of Dover in England and the Kreideküste in Germany. In his description, Prof. Ernst Haeckel wrote that Cristellaria, “a discoidal spiral shell, 2mm in size, resembles a spurred wheel and carries a keeled outer edge with a row of strong, backwards-curved barbs.”

This 3D-printed design is available as a pendant in multiple materials including silver and bronze, and also in a smaller size as earrings. Available at Shapeways and Etsy.
